“The LEOMEL SOCIETY is a registered nonprofit making organization that runs a home for the destitute and dying which is named as KARUNALAYA a charitable home and is situated at Navage Village District Belagavi. All the society members are like-minded persons who are dedicated to serving the poor and needy of society. The society has 26 members which include seven governing body members President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
KARUNALAYA was established in the year 2004 and from then on the society has been catering to the needs of the destitute and dying. The society depends solely on the generosity of the general public to manage KARUNALAYA.”
Our Vision
The vision of the founder Mrs. Anita Rodricks was to start a home in which the poor, the dying and the destitute would be loved and looked after as her own family. She has established this home Karunalaya in loving memory of her mother Mrs. Leopoldina Gomes and her husband Mr. Melwin Rodricks. She named the society after her mother and husband as “LEOMEL SOCIETY”
Our Mission
To Care for the dying and destitute of society in love and service regardless of race, creed, colour and sex.
Our Objectives
The main objective of the LEOMEL SOCIETY is to assist, support and enable the dying and the destitute citizens of India especially in the city of Belagavi and its surrounding areas.
The second objective was to establish a home in Belagavi to be known as KARUNALAYA, which means a home of love and compassion in which support services to the dying and the destitute would be provided.
